About Van Man
Van Man is a small-batch fashion brand that designs with intention.
Every piece is made by hand — from pattern drafting to sewing and construction. I design, cut, and assemble each garment and bag myself, allowing the work to remain intentional and controlled. Production is limited by design.
Van Man moves between womenswear, menswear, and accessories. The work explores quiet maximalism — clean silhouettes shaped by texture and proportion.
Masculine and feminine forms coexist and overlap, creating balance through contrast.
Materials are selected with care. I prioritize high-quality, responsibly sourced fabrics chosen for durability, feel, and longevity. This approach reflects a belief in stewardship — making less, making better.
My work is informed by heritage and experience. Coming from an immigrant family that moved to the United States in the 1980s, I design with an understanding of resourcefulness, making, and care. My African heritage influences how I approach pattern, structure, and form — felt rather than stated.
Van Man is designed for everyday use.
